Stupendous Magazine #1 is a superhero themed magazine that not only celebrates the love of comics and promotes local New Jersey and Pennsylvania artists and their art/work/projects. Each creator has up to 10 pages to showcase themselves, their work, and any projects they are working or developing.
Format - Magazine sized: 8.5 x 11 inches  OVER 100 Pages in Black and white
For my section I created a six page comic which I wrote, drew, inked and lettered all except two pages which fellow artist, Eric Hernandez, volunteered to assist in the pencils when I had a time crunch. He and I will be working together on “Soul Eraser” from Triple Threat Comics beginning with issue #4.
I also included a pinup I drew of the story’s character and it was graciously inked by Marvel Comics artist, Keith Williams. It is an homage to Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns.
I have included a one page short story called “The Escapee” for a suspense filled, non-graphical yarn.

But don’t take my word for it, read what people are saying about my section:

"Superheroics combined with an old-school pulp feel... I like it!"
-- Dirk Manning, writer, TALES OF MR. RHEE, NIGHTMARE WORLD

"All the raw energy of the finest underground/outlaw comics!"
-- Y. Shane Nitzsche, writer/artist, MOXIE COMICS.

“QUIQUE's comic isn't just another superhero tall tale but an inspiring story of doiing good for the greater good - and his short story "Escapee" pulls you in for a dramatic read!
-- LesDudis.com, BEYOND POP CULTURE!

"I've been following Enrique's work as an inker for a few years now and love his line work and ability to pull just the right line from a penciler's work. But now I find out he's a writer and all-around artist to boot! I'm eager to see what he does next!"
-- Mike Shea, writer, MISKATONIC HIGH

“Un cómic de super héroes que te acerca la época dorada del cómic.”
“A super hero story that harkens back to the Golden Age of Comics.”
-- DC Alonso, colorist, Heavy Metal/Valiant/Dark Horse

“Enrique has become a friend over the past few years. I’ve watched him grow as an artist and even more specifically an INK artist. There’s still a lot of growth to come into play but you can see the energy and drive that he puts forth in his work. His comic is a fun ride, and I’m looking forward to what comes next!”
-- Mark McKenna, writer/artist, DC Comics/Marvel Comics/Creator of Combat Jacks
“A very nice and light short comic using a current world situation; Reminds me of when I was reading comics in the early 80’s – short tales with a message.”
-- Jay Lipson, artist, Upper Deck/Marvel Comics/Counterpoint Comics
